Taper style UPNM

another year of IM. gonna swim below 1 hour 30 mins, mount on the bike for 6 hours plus, run if possible less than 5hours. this year i'm really lack of training. the routine is getting packed, assignments pouring from the sky like heavy downpour. but i'm still surviving in UPNM. whether if it's possible for me to complete sub 12, we'll see. this year we'll be wearing SUPER ELITE 2XU Trisuit which cost 500 plus each! and we're sponsored 10K plus by the University for 4 participants to compete in the IM=)

this is what my taper is all about... we did physical training, then ran under the hot sun. good endurance training i guess. we're not suppose to request for exemption, coz the CI will say "u're here to become a soldier, not to represent the country in IM". his saying is true, too true for us to argue.

Lunch in the Cadets mess, good carbo loading for me. complete meal according to the food pyramid=)(except the taste)

we're all covered by the hot sun sitting on the road while waiting for Dato' Amir.
when he is in the mess, he was hunting for the blogger who wrote about mess bill 2 juta thing. actually i wonder if he finish reading Wira Damai, coz in that blog, the 2 juta thing is about the lanscape of UPNM but still cadets worked to improve the landscape. thatz what he wrote in the blog.
but this new commanding officer got our roar after his speech, his maintenance of cadets' morale is super good=) after the piercing speech by Commandant, the he engaged with a softer style. the cadets gave him the biggest applause i ever heard in UPNM, i'm serious! he was the Commanding Officer of 2nd Malay Regiment, claming that he got the head of the tiger=p hahaha. so far i can assume that he gained the respect and should be no problem to command the cadets=)his first approach already got our fullest support!

Delta company of Battalion Lekir, warming up for Jalan Laju 8km with packs and webbing set. one thing good about Jalan Laju despite i don't quite like the heavy packs mount on my shoulder, itz a good strength training, and thats one of the reason we're mentally stronger than the others, basically we have the fitness. so just need to improve technics.

morning till afternoon i stood for 5 hours plus, back ache leg pain muscles tired but life must go on. morning after the serah terima tugas between the commanding officer, i went for lunch before approach CI. after request permission to enter, i saw one cute lil boy sitting on my Chief Instructor's seat! haha he was throwing erasers and pens in the office while me stood there like a soldier boy=p he came to me n smack my backside. hahaha.. according to CI, Triathlon's achievements, no body knows. i was kinda not happy n shocked. what to do right? the football team got a Lt Cononel to fight for them. since now we have CI, should be no problem i guess.
Btw, before i met CI.. i met one very interesting guy.
all the Lekir and the Kasturi gotta stay back. Major Aspal 3005757 was the man.
-korang ni bijak pandai, tapi tak reti nak pakai otak.
-bila aku kata ko bodoh, ko marah..
-jangan tengok muka aku, tgk "turn out" aku! smart ker tak??
-tak pernah ada dlm sejarah askar ni, orang mintak join askar sampai 5 kali!

hahaha some of his words really scratch me, not only me but most of us. but i would say his words are good. all those speculation from officers, i have no power to stop them. just let it be and our day will come.
another problem that i'm gonna face soon is, my exam interfere with IM. i must rush back one day earlier, or i sit for the exam days earlier than the others. hmm my ethnic relation project, which carry 20%! but my team, totally off track including the whole intake. it might be easy for the palapes to complete it since they can go out everyday, unlike the CADETS!

the same quote always come out from the lips..
siapa suruh masuk tentera?"
aku tak bentang tikar merah jemput kau masuk askar!"
hehehee i'm used to it already. then this morning, one of my batchmate cock up in the parade. shoes unblackened, not shine, and not up to standard. the effect, whole intake show parade. same thing happen same situation, same mistake same punishment, everything the same! tradition never dies.. military culture will go on and on..

UPNM

Le Tour De Langkawi..
whole team participated in cyclefest putrajaya.
the kasta of bike is so obvious. some using expensive bike n nice jersey, while some using heavy steel bike with old jersey. the leg is more important anyway. the junior Kedah team using steel bike, exactly same like my old one. Selangor painted their bike red and yellow, one rider with his high profile Dura Ace covered the word Dura Ace with Selangor sticker. 30km slow cycling followed by another 20km light training. 25of us went there for fun ride. Haziq managed to organize this at the very last minute. Despite some technical problem with the Student Affair Department, we finally got support from the military side. one truck fit all=p kinda pack, but we don't mind as long as we can go.
next day 80km night race. that was my first road race. the first corner, more than 10 cyclist fell including Mariana. she yelled "Fu*k" when she fell=p hahaha.. funny.. i was in the 2nd peloton together with few senior cyclist and Kimberly Yap=) what i can say about road racing is, super fast n furious n full of tactical. i lead the group for the 1st loop, and Tuan Ikhsan told me to save my energy. hehehe saja je nk test energy patch. i wasn't tired through out the race, coz my group's rider are quite fast. average speed of 40 plus. few loops later Tuan Faezi fell out of the 2nd peloton. the other team members i don't know where they've gone missing. Haziq in the first peloton, too far for me to catch him. Amirul's tire punctured, so the only choice was to quit the race.
hours before the race, haziq's father saw a string of wire penetrate into my NEW Huitchinson tire which cost me 200 per pair! what the hell! the tire is new! i quickly change new tube although it was still firm. i'm afraid it'll flat during the race. 3 gels was more than enough, but 2 bottles was too little. i brought one endurance and one plain water.
nice race anyway=) proud of the juniors for their capability to organize this race for the team=) thumbs up for them=)

what the hell is this?

why this week i have conflict with people for few times huh? today with another fat ass from HEPA. sigh.. long story to tell, just make it short. one gel missing, and i messaged the supplier. when i found out, some one ate it. i trusted the supplier very much, so i have no doubt when he sent the stock, was kinda sad when 1 gel lost. not because of the gel, but it is OUR supplement, it is OURS! why someone ate it? and complaining about the taste of power gel. that dumb girl must read la what is written on the pack.. it is POWER GEL, not SEDAP GEL. sigh.. was at the verge of quarreling with those incompetent staff, but i chose to keep mum.
anyway, today i have a good news to share with u guys..
Chief Instructor himself will become our team leader! it is really a big present for me and the team. i'm sure it'll definitely smoother than before=) may this change be a positive change for all of us=)
i bought a set of new tire, cost me 200 ringgit.. and 5 tubes. UPNM under construction, lots of tiny stones.. tire will puncture easily.

tragedy

31st Jan- Farhan fell, Stuart fell, Tuan Azhar fell
1st of Feb- Suria fell

heavy downpour day after day, the road was wet and slippery, but our spirit to train will never fade. most corners at our training track is a 90 degree corner, this kinda corner not only kill the speed, but also challenge the rider's cornering skills, and also test the grip of one's tire.

but for this week, the corners have chosen their victim. the University's compound is under construction, so those sand and stones, nails and nuts are unavoidable. making us feel like riding in an obstacle course. this week's first victim was Yellow Fondriest, 2nd victim was Scott, then the 3rd was Trek and followed by BMC.
is the rider or the bike's mistake?
yellow fondriest fell at the corner, the Trek tried to avoid but ended up kissing the ground, luckily scott is alert and quick enough to pull himself out. Luckily CSK who was drafting this Scott didn't fell=p

this unlucky Trek ended up in the Hospital, had 5 stitches on his chin, but his smile has proven that this is no big deal and is part and parcel of life of a triathlete. Scott and Fondriest had scratches and patches on their body. Anyway, no serious injury...
WHO TO BE BLAMED???
hmm in accident, no one will purposely fell for nothing. so one one should be blamed.
Better Luck next time=)
