rise and dawn

the sets of final exam replaced by the dawn of military training..
this evening's marching was good coz the contingent was small and handled by lots of seniors. as tuan Achot said just now, the cause of poor marching performance is because of no postmortem, so the lesson wasn't so effective. his way of teaching is interesting and not stressful. Unlike some of the instructors who slap the cadets for their mistake. last few nights, mechanical students were called to stay back on the parade square. seniors organized a seminar but not many of us attended, so those curry puff wasted, then they got angry. after the mild punish, JUO Aziizur joined the party.. he was saying that the punishment was too light.. because of his words, the party continued.. then we're all back in our files. one senior suddenly came to me, asking where is my pen and note book, then i said i left it at my hostel. another senior approached and straight gimme a punch on my chest.
years ago in RMC, all this ragging stuff is no big deal. but in here, i'm kinda shocked since those punishers are those who cock up the most. juniors wish seniors because of the rank, but certain seniors really gain the respect from juniors for showing good example. every intake laden with capable cadets but the law of nature that we have to accept, in every good things, there must be dark side and nothing is perfect, those who are not competent enough annoyed the others.
this few days i've been watching loads of Lance Armstrong's video.. those videos strike me deeply, triggered me to hammer the pedal faster, stride wider and glide further. one day after refueling my "motivation tank".. i'm back in shape and improved tremendously. all this while i've been so sad for not cycling fast enough despite my swim and run has improved. sunday i cycled in Uni compound, front tire punctured. this evening punctured again, i ran back to the apartment bare footed and bumped into Dato' Zul.. luckily he didn't scold me for running shoe-less.. later i found out that a 2cm length nail pierced into my tube! what the hell.. luckily my rim is still in good shape.

train slightly less relax than the others..

this week i completed 7km run for 2 successive days. the muscle pain overwhelming and the lactic acid drowning in my body forcing me to change to lower intensity activity. liters of recovery drink didn't seem to be enough, but experience taught me to be patient, not too avid in pursuing my dream. IRONMAN is just around the corner, Admin Orders have been submitted, now we'll wait for the result. this morning Ahmad and myself went to Hal Ehwal Pelajar and Alumni office, bumped into Prof Mahzum, she was teasing that i requested for a huge amount of money for IRONMAN.
i feel that my swim has improved, but how accurate that "feel" is??? coz i never take timing when i swim, plus i really need a Triathlon watch or any water resistant watch with slim and aero design. i saw a few nice aero helmet, of course the price is "aero" as well=p till one day i have better financial status, i'll get that helmet. sometimes people won't understand why we're willing to spend so much money for this sport, the passion that counts. got to know that i'm in the sportsman award's list, but i don't think the selection is fair enough since those rugby and soccer player who fought hard and won numerous title didn't get a place in the list.
evening went for a swim.. this week i completed the total of 4km swim. this is my first week of intensive training, so i'm not gonna push too hard...

this week i did my technical drawing, but before the drawing... my dad and myself looked for my 0.3 lead for my mechanical pencil. we Le Tour the KL, but still couldn't get. i was at the verge of giving up, or i would say i already gave up. but still my dad patiently drive around KL bring me from grocery shop till bookshops.. at last after hours of searching, we got it in ampang point's POPULAR book shop. its proven that the zeal in my dad is super thick, while his son's eagerness to achieve something is way too low. hahaha...
another week has gone, one week closer to IRONMAN... i'm deeply nervous and i know my muscles gonna cry during the race.

Exam Fever

what exam fever is all about....
i'm a person who seldom fall sick.. i think i fall sick less than 3 times a year. but sport injuries can't be avoided, because i'm exposed to higher risk compare to the other cadets who only jog in the evening. days ago Adren or Mat Black did a very impressive run! 38mins for 10km. he deserves that black skin. this whole week i've been fighting hard to "combat" flu, sore throat, and phlegm. i guess that is what exam fever is all about. based on my observation, i tend to fall sick during exam period, because i don't exercise or do less work out. so whenever i have free time, i NEED to swim bike run. i'm improving my strokes, since i have no time for coaching and save my money, my way of learning??? from the internet. it takes time to learn since no body gonna correct me. so i modified my swim style.. i practice 3 strokes and 1 breathe. at first i find it hard to do 3 strokes, not enough breath. then i do more training with power paddle, now getting better. while my cycling getting worse! i think this is the Worst performance of my cycling. my run isn't improving, but slowing down gradually. i'm gonna start my training plan to get myself back in shape before IRONMAN. i'm really running out of time, out of shape, yet the Admin Order hasn't approved by the authority. sigh...
look at this cervelo bike.. super nice la.. but very very costly. furthermore, a lot of cyclist buy cervelo but cycle super slow. haha.. but those TOP cyclist on Cervelo broke world records nearly every year. i wish to have Aerodynamic helmet, i really like the stylistic shape and aero design. but when i look at the price, straight away i say "No way!"..
tomorrow i'll be sitting for my FINAL paper, the only paper left! Introduction to Engineering!!! the whole class got really poor grade! my lecturer, Lt Col (R)IR Ghani Madersah. ish3... his marking is so strict, and very hard to get marks from him. he always claim that he was a chief ragger, and he was commissioned by Queen E..
whatever la.. in my class, coincidence.. all Ops in the Engineering course are in the same class. zk08 m3 we are in.. and our grades also almost the same..
OP Akmal, OP Abu, OP Chan, OP Jay. all in one class. so when our lecturer IR Ghani trying to claim his title chief ragger, we understand why he behave this way=p he talk like a dinosaur with his deep voice, sometimes sounds like terrorist.. hahaha=p hopefully he won't read my blog.
time to rest...

UPNM

I hereby announce to the whole world, to anyone who concern about UPNM Tri Team's progress that... Mej Kalam our team leader now replaced by Captain Al-Muna. i do not know how the selection was done, but now he is our team leader. those who're going for Powerman will see him there. He was a runner, so that day he suggested us to eat Pharmaton. that sounds weird to us coz all this while we eat Power Bar. He was the one who personally submitted the Admin Order to authority, and APPROVED!=D but only juniors going, seniors exam=.= this happen every year, may be malakoff should consider young talent pursuing degree in Uni.. sigh.. better luck next year.. HOPEfully..

New about TRIKIDZ...
people heard about trikids through broadcast, blogs, and friends n athletes n bla bla... UPNM conducted series of Trikids program to instill interest of younger generation to involve in Tri sports indirectly lead to a healthier life style. justnow i got a message from Kak Juli, berbunyi begini.. "Salam. Major, nk tanya upnm cadets ada nk jd volunteers takfor trikidz ?"
such a sad sms, only the UPNM cadets understand what is going on. the new VC always say that the authority strongly support this Tri Team. weeks ago, we had a club meeting, and the Chief Instructor personally came and telling us what is going on. Message from VC, the Trikidz isn't approved by UPNM new admin, and need approval from Ministry Of Defense. Thatz all i can tell. Yang lain tu, SULIT DARI HAL ANGGOTA. we're just too tiny to involve with all this, so we just follow orders. No doubt Mej Kalam helped us a lot, and this is the time for us to support him. Futhermore, this event will bring up the University's name. We don't question orders, or else we pakai BATTLE ORDER. New Admin, new style. UPNM has changed, no more palm trees by the road side. Lots of new construction, we as Cadet Officers just follow the stream...

thats all for this post...

Exam Finale

exam fever is haunting the UPNM cadets, and so do those facing STPM=)
so far my carry marks are just average. last friday when i told my dentist Dato' Dr Hussin about my grades, he said i should have performed better to get at least 3.7. hahaha never ever in my life i get 3.5 and above. i'm a slow learner, so i gotta work slightly harder than the others. i just finished TITAS and ENGLISH 1 final exam just now. yesterday i hamba-kan myself to the lap top for whole day to read those presentation slides. but my effort worth coz i can answer smoothly, only few Qs i gotta squeeze my brain. During the English test, i realize how weak my english is. i really need to buck up. i nearly answer wrongly the whole cloze text! i couldn't differentiate between past tense and present perfect tense! Argh that's so disappointing. luckily last minute Jay kasi wahyu=p MEMO writing was fine, and the composition part quite okay. once they gave me the paper, i straight look for the composition part and start doing mind map(walaupun invigilator tak suro wat). because i know i won't have ample time to complete it. that few minutes really help me!
What topic i did? hehehe definitely something to do with my life right? so that easier to "gebang"... it sounds like this "Should co-curricular activities be made compulsory in universities?"
-Co-curricular activities should be made compulsory in all universities.
-physical:
better physique, burn fat, build muscles, those who doesn't involve tend to suffer injury when doing light intensity trainings.
-mental
better blood flow to the brain, heart health, vitamin, oxygen, handle stress
-social
soft skills, tolerance between races, understand culture, sportsman spirit
-personal growth
manage time, score personal goal, discipline

Lazy to re-do the essay in this blog. tired of writing actually. another 1 week juniors will go POWERMAN, that also if Prof Mahzum come back from Phuket before the race. Or else, kirim salam la nak race.
my introduction to engineering, super low grade weyh!!! the other classes score so well, only my class waaaayyyyyyyy below average. nak lulus pun belum tentu! this is just INTRODUCTION! IR GHANI my strict and stern lecturer warned us during his first class. we tried our best, but still get low marks. =s next sem amik STATIC, memang STATIC la aku dalam engineering ni.. adoi.. i have another 4 years to combat in this engineering war zone.

andai kata aku gugur semua, tabur lah bunga di atas pusara..
aku mohon doa, lecturer jgn kejam..
semboyan telah berbunyi..
menuju medan bakti..

hopefully climb over this big2 wall, then serve the navy as an engineer..
IRONMAN 2009 awaiting, after exam i'll be back!!!
